Ted's Firehouse Pub and Grill

Who is Ted?

Ted has been in the food industry for over 40 years.  He grew up in Jackson, met his wife Linda of 42 years and raised a family of 4 in both Jackson and Grand Rapids.  After he originally began in Jackson in 1964 at the Hays Hotel, he moved his family to Grand Rapids.  Ted has managed several restaurants over the years, including Bentham's at Amway Grand Plaza Hotel in Grand Rapids, then returned to Jackson in 1985 as the Assistant General Manager/ Food & Beverage Director at the Holiday Inn.

Ted purchased the old Back Door on October 27, 1996, but when he was originally approached to purchase the site, he was surprised there was no functional kitchen.  What is a bar with out a restaurant?  With his extensive experience and history in the food industry, he decided to expand from just beverage and appetizers to a full menu with catering on the side.  Whether you have a party of 15-300 persons, Ted is right on to meet any budget.  Once he decided to purchase the bar, made a few changes including the name to what we now know as, Ted's Firehouse Pub and Grill.

Anyone who knows Ted is aware of his admiration for the 1461st Guardsmen stationed here in Jackson, he too was once a Guardsmen.  When ever the men are about to be sent away from home, Ted is planning a well deserved send off and right there when they come home with a Welcome Home Parade.

When ever there is a fire in Jackson County, Ted is right there to assist in any way he can.  Providing food and beverage to rescue workers and firemen who are battling the blaze.

He is an honorble man who helps in the time of need for his community.
